package: libxine1
version: 1.0.1-1sarge2

Following installation of above version due to security update of March 14,
Windows game "Total Annihilation"
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Total_annihilation) run under wine (version
0.0.20050310-1.2) no longer has sound. Instead, an in-game error message is
produced: "No sound driver available for use".

Following a forced downgrade to libxine1 version 1.0.1-1sarge1, no error
message is produced and sound works normally.

That's okay for me. This shows that you are no longer seeing the
problem with the version of libxine in debian 4.0.

This sounds to me much more like a problem in wine itself. I have no
idea about wine, am not particularily interested in it, but I know that
it is software under heavy development. So if you are interested in
improving that situation, I'd suggest contacting the wine authors and
talk to them about this problem.

This is excatly what I wanted to hear :) - again, thanks for reporting
back!
