Package: coreutils
version: 5.2.1-2
With a 2.4 kernel-image installed that was built with kernel-package
in Woody, the removal of the fileutils transitional package breaks the
kernel-image pacakge. The message in aptitude looks like this:
kernel-image-<version> depends on fileutils (>= 4.0) (provided by
coreutils 5.2.1-2)
The 'apt-cache show coreutils' indicates that coreutils does, in fact,
provide fileutils, but it appears that kernel-package creates (or
created) the kernel-image to depend in a specific version of fileutils.

A newer make-kpkg will depend on coreutils or fileutils. Short of
building a new kernel package, the other alternative is to just leave
the fileutils package there--it doesn't hurt anything.
