As seen here http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?t=14227 I can not
figure out how to get Adept to autonotify and documentation is scarce.
In Kubuntu it was automatic. However in Debian I have to manually run
"apt-get update" before the orange triangle is displayed in the
taskbar. This may not be an adept problem, perhaps some other program
is supposed to automatically run "apt-get update". I have copied my
working Kubuntu configuration as much as possible and I still can not
get it to autonitfy, however having cron call "apt-get update" weekly or
daily works fine to get the orange triangle to display.
Regards,
Sam

The adept package has been removed from Debian testing, unstable and
experimental, so I am now closing the bugs that were still opened
against it.
For more information about this package's removal, read
http://bugs.debian.org/464340 . That bug might give the reasons why
this package was removed, and suggestions of possible replacements.
Don't hesitate to reply to this mail if you have any question.
Thank you for your contribution to Debian.
