Package: unixodbc

Severity: normal
While trying to remove unixodbc package, dpkg complains of some unmet package
dependency. Below is the related apt-get output:
rd-portal:~# apt-get remove --purge unixodbc
Reading package lists... Done

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
sun-java5-jre: Depends: sun-java5-bin (= 1.5.0-14-1etch1) but it is not going
to be installed or
ia32-sun-java5-bin (= 1.5.0-14-1etch1) but it is not
installable

That is not a unixodbc bug. You have an unrelated package installed which
has unresolved dependencies; apt will refuse to do anything else for you so
long as there are broken packages on the system.
