Package: scim
Version: 1.4.2-1
Severity: minor
When scim is running but toggled off (typing English), I cannot input
accents / accented characters, like ^`ยด or even ~. When scim is not
started, or after toggling it on (with ctrl-space, in whatever IME),
this is not a problem.
I have a German laptop keyboard and use deadkeys (configured in both
xorg.conf and ~/.scim/global)

Florian,
thank you for reporting back. Based on your feedback, I will now close
this ticket.
English being the default may seem odd at first, but in this case there
really is no other sane default. None of Chinese, Japanese or any of
the other supported complex languages would be a sane default.
Regards
Rolf
