Hi,
I installed inspircd locally for testing purposes. Every time I
connect to it with localhost:6667 I get the following error
message:
21:41 !irc.local *** Looking up your hostname...
21:42 !irc.local *** Could not resolve your hostname: Request timed out;
using your IP address (127.0.0.1) instead.
21:42 !irc.local Welcome to Localnet!
It connects fine, just takes a small (half minute or so) but
annoying timeout.
My /etc/hosts file includes localhost:
127.0.0.1 localhost
192.168.2.17 asp
I use a static setup (no dhcp).
