When a new sub-window is opened, the programs that depend on terminal size
(like mc, vim etc.) are not notified, and lines become garbled.
Pressing Ctrl-L partially restores their output, but moving the cursor reveals
that they still think that the terminal size is unchanged. Resizing the sub-
windows fixes the issue. Closing sub-windows does not raise this issue.
