Justification: renders package unusable
Previously I used the earlier 'testing' version (0.47?). My system is
a mostly-current 'testing' system (I don't upgrade X11 for minor version
bumps). This worked perfectly. I used synaptic to upgrade synaptic
(maybe this caused problem?). It now starts up and lists the packages
but the UI is completely unresponsive, even down to the "close" button.
Also, the icon for 'Upgrade' is white with a red 'X' in it, as if it
could not find the img file. On the console synaptic starts from, there
are the following messages (these may have always occurred, I can't
remember):
(synaptic:1985): Gtk-WARNING **: gtk_scrolled_window_add(): cannot add
non scrollable widget use gtk_scrolled_window_add_with_viewport()
instead

This bug is not reproducible anymore and it is reported against a
very old synaptic version, so closing it.
Please feel free to reopen it if you still could reproduce this in the
latest version of synaptic.
