Package: iproute
Version: 20120319-1
Severity: important

The iproute package has a large number of reverse dependencies (~ 60).
This makes it a good candidate for multiarch conversion. The interface
to the iproute package appears to be command line. This makes it a
Multi-Arch: foreign candidate. It also ships shared libraries, but those
are hidden in /usr/lib/tc. There also is an iproute-dev package which
should not be marked as Multi-Arch: foreign due to the static library
shipped. Since iproute-dev does not depend on iproute this suggests that
they are not that tightly coupled (even though iproute contains the
manual page for the library contained in iproute-dev). Could you double
check whether marking iproute as Multi-Arch: foreign is possible and do
this if appropriate? If Multi-Arch: foreign is not possible there is
still Multi-Arch: allowed. Setting severity to important as this is part
of the multiarch release goal. Thanks for your help.

Helmut
