Had to back out
# dpkg -i /var/cache/apt/archives/*1.4.13-4*
# aptitude forbid-version scim libscim8c2a
and restart my window manager (nodm),
to be able to get anything done today.

I have my doubts that will happen. And even if it did, we wouldn't have
any way of knowing because so far we don't really have much more than
"doesn't work" accompanied by frantic hand-waving.

Downgrading severity until we established there is indeed any problem in
scim at all.

I had a lengthy reply written because of the poor quality of your
reports even though you are a long time user of Debian. And then I
found http://jidanni.org/comp/bug_reporter.html where you explain that
you are apparently purposefully creating a large number of low quality
tickets :-( We don't have time for that.

Please consider all your poorly written reports against scim or any of
the other packages I maintain as susceptible to immediate closure as
invalid until the quality and reproduceability of your reports
improves. If you don't have enough time to write a proper bug report,
we most definitely do not have enough time to triage it for you in many
hours that could have been spent more productively. Thank you for your
consideration.

Sincerely

Rolf
