Package: sysklogd
Severity: wishlist
I wish syslogd would support configuring the logging date format. The
logging date-stamps don't contain the year, and the "Month DD" format is
kind of weird. Yes, I know this is standardized, but on my systems I
don't care, because I don't use log analyzers or something. I would
prefer the "YYYY-MM-DD" ISO format. Total configurability would be even
better.
In my research, I found that someone once made a patch to a (now older)
version of syslogd to support the ISO format if a "-D" switch was
specified:

Perhaps this is helpful.
Julian.
