Windowmaker fails to start when set by gconf to the default window
manager.
Steps to produce problem
1. Set gconf /desktop/gnome/applications/window_manager current to
/usr/bin/wmaker

Gnome starts with an alternative window manager. If twm, sawfish or
metacity are substituted for wmaker, they start normally.
Windowmaker starts without a hitch if gnome is already running.
