Package: gnome-shell
Version: 3.2.2.1-2
Severity: normal
Dear Maintainer,
I added a custom shortcut to start urxvt from System Settings ->
Keyboard -> Shortcuts -> Custom Shortcuts. I used the left "Windows
key" plus the X key for the shortcut, which ended as Mod4+X in the
list as expected.
However, this shortcut doesn't work correctly. urxvt only starts if I
either
1) press the Windows key, release it, press it again and keep it
pressed for a while, then press X, or
2) press the Windows key and keep it pressed, then press X twice.
This only happens in gnome-shell. It works correctly in the fallback
mode of Gnome 3.
All normal (non-custom) shortcuts that I have tried work correctly,
whether they have the windows key or not. I've also tried other keys
than X with the Windows key, but none have worked correctly this far.
I installed a newer version of gnome-shell and gnome-shell-common from
unstable to test whether this has been fixed.
I also found an upstream bug report from May 2011 that looks like the
same issue:
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=649389
It has been marked as a duplicate of another, fixed issue, but it
still doesn't work. And AFAICS, the superseding issue is not the same
bug, although a bit similar.
