--- Begin Message ---Package: e2fsprogs Version: 1.42.8-1 Severity: wishlist Hi. e2fsprogs (especially mke2fs) should use blkid to check whether any other container/fs (other filesystems (including ext*), LVM, LUKS, etc.) already exists on a block device, ... and if so ask for confirmation before overwriting it. Not sure how far the other tools (like tune2fs, e2fsck, etc.) already check for an existing ext4 or not... but at least mke2fs seems to overwrite without asking. Cheers, Chris.
