Package: vorbis-tools
Version: 1.0.1-1
Severity: minor
I'd like to stream remote OGG files which are hosted on a HTTPS (with
http authentification) server. Since ogg123 can not do this directly, I
thought I'd use wget as a building block:
<<<<<snip>>>>>
lexx:/tmp# wget -O - --http-user=johndoe --http-passwd=secret
https://www.example.com/audio/movies/non-dvs/And_Now_for_Something_Completely_Different.ogg
| ogg123 -
--20:44:10--
https://www.example.com/audio/movies/non-dvs/And_Now_for_Something_Completely_Different.ogg
=> `-'
Resolving www.example.com... 192.168.249.1
Connecting to www.example.com[192.168.249.1]:443... connected.
Audio Device: Advanced Linux Sound Architecture (ALSA) output
HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 200 OK
Length: 42,182,214 [application/ogg]
Error opening - using the oggvorbis module. The file may be corrupted.
0% [ ] 16,384 50.47K/s
Cannot write to `And_Now_for_Something_Completely_Different.ogg' (Success).
lexx:/tmp#
<<<<<snip>>>>>
Using the -b and -p arguments does not help at all. No matter how large
I make the buffer, ogg123 always terminates immediately. It almost
looks as if ogg123 isn't trying hard enough to read from the file descriptor.
If I pipe the same wget command to a file, and do
ogg123 -<file.ogg
it plays.
If I pipe the same wget command to player directly like "| mplayer -" it
works without a hickup.

* Non-maintainer upload during BSP.
* Make package installable again by rebuilding against new FLAC libraries.

* As requested by upstream, include patch to fix playing from a pipe.

[Patch in debian/patches/play-from-pipe.diff, but present in the .diff.gz
because debian/rules does not apply debian/patches/*.]
