On monitors that use resolutions where the pixels are not square, e.g.
1920x1200 on a 21" CRT, which is the automatically chosen resolution for my
monitor, which is the say X reports different x DPI from y DPI, squares are not
square, circles are not circles, etc because the scaling is not correct.
