Package: kernel-package
Version: 10.030
Severity: minor
Building the kernel via make-kpkg build && fakeroot make-kpkg
kernel-image doesn't set LINUX_COMPILE_BY "$user" as in versions 9.*.
Building as supposed in the README via make-kpkg build && fakeroot
make -f debian/rules stamp-kernel-image removes customized version
out of debian/changelog and ignores them. I cannot verify on which
version this behavior first occurs.
My version and maintainer params set in /etc/kernel-pkg.conf.

Hi,
The LINUX_COMPILER stuff was provided by the kernel
include/linux/compile.h file, which seems not to be there in new
kernels, the code is still in place to report it if the kerel knows
about it.
The bit about custom versions has been fixed, I think, in new
uploads, if not, please file another bug with logs, so we can debug
the issue.
