Package: php3-mysql, php3-pgsql, php4-mysql, php4-pgsql
Version: n/a
Severity: wishlist

Please improve the postinst script so it enables this (or the others
respectively) module by installation. "extension=pgsql.so" needs
to be added to /etc/php3/apache/php.ini or something.

Please perform this task for every inkarnation of PHP3 and module.

It's not that easy for new users to apache and/or php to find out
that they need to do more than "apt-get install php3-pgsql" to
get PostgreSQL-support with php. Last I checked with php3-mysql
it was also lacking documentation in /usr/doc/$package.

Thus: Please improve these packages.

Regards,

        Joey

Dear reporter,

php3 has been removed from Debian unstable/testing, because it's superseded
by php4 and php5. Please see #330656 for more information.

This bug does not apply to php4 or php5, so I'm closing it now.

Thank you for your report,
--Jeroen
