Package: lirc
Version: 0.9.0~pre1-1
Severity: important
File: /etc/init.d/lirc

Hello,

The instructions (as far as I can make out) say to configure lirc but
editing the configuration in /etc/lirc/hardware.conf. However, when I set
the LIRCD_CONF variable, it is not recognized and when trying to start
lirc I get a message that it is unconfigured and will not be started.

--- Begin Message --- The new release 0.9.4b (currently in experimental) has a completetly new configuration system which basically obsoletes this bug. In particular, the LIRCD_CONF is neither supported nor mentioned in any relevant documentation, and hardware.conf is not used. Closing bug.
