Dear maintainers,
With a recent upload of python3-defaults (which changed the default
python3 from 3.6 to 3.7) the autopkgtest of cysignals fails in testing
when that autopkgtest is run with the binary packages of
python3-defaults from unstable. It passes when run with only packages
from testing. In tabular form:
pass fail
python3-defaults from testing 3.7.1-2
cysignals from testing 1.6.7+ds-4
all others from testing from testing
I copied some of the output at the bottom of this report. Unfortunately,
from the output nobody can see why the test fails, as the output is the
same for a successful run. And to be honest, this looks very much like
bug #888998.
Currently this regression is contributing to the delay of the migration
of python3-defaults to testing [1]. Due to the nature of this issue, I
filed this bug report against both packages. Can you please investigate
the situation and reassign the bug to the right package? If needed,
please change the bug's severity.
