Package: libxine1
Version: 1.1.1-1.1
Severity: important
I can't play any Internet radio stations when using totem-xine. The
error message displayed is:
Totem could not play 'http://nectarine.ipsyn.net:8002/'. There is no input
plugin to handle the location of this movie".
Printed to the console is:
xine_stream_new
video_out_xv: VO_PROP_INTERLACED(0)
xine: found input plugin : gnome-vfs input plugin as shipped with xine
xine: input plugin cannot open MRL [http://nectarine.ipsyn.net:8002/]
net_buf_ctrl: nbc_close
net_buf_ctrl: nbc_close: done
xine: cannot find input plugin for MRL [http://nectarine.ipsyn.net:8002/]
** Message: Couldn't initialize lirc.
xine_dispose
A totem developer suggested[0] that I try removing Xine's gnome-vfs
plugin. After I removed the file
/usr/lib/xine/plugins/1.1.1/xineplug_inp_gnome_vfs.so, I was able to
listen to the radio station without any errors.
So it seems the gnome-vfs plugin prevents the loading of media from http
URLs.
