--- Begin Message ---Package: gnome-swallow-applet Version: 1.2-2 Severity: normal When I add a swallow applet to my panel and configure it to run i8kmon it works initially but when I log out and log back in to GNOME the i8kmon runs but does not get swallowed. First I get an error dialog: Swallower Applet: Could not find a window named "i8kmon" (ran program "i8kmon") Then later the i8kmon starts in it's own non-swallowed window. If I right click on the blank area in the panel where the swallowed applet should be I get the reconfigure menu and if I just click "ok" without changing the already filled-in values the running applet gets swallowed. I have tried with several variations of configuring the applet. For "Program to run" I have tried "i8kmon" and "/usr/bin/i8kmon". For "Window name to swallow" I have tried "i8kmon" and I have tried leaving it blank. I get the same behavior every time: it works at first but fails to work on re-login. This is the package that i8kmon is in: ii i8kutils 1.27 utilities for Dell Inspiron and Latitude lap The man page for i8kmon says: The program can be ... swallowed in the gnome panel. I have had this problem under both sarge and etch. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.12-2005100902 Locale: LANG=en_US, LC_CTYPE=en_US (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Versions of packages gnome-swallow-applet depends on: ii gnome-panel 2.10.2-1 launcher and docking facility for ii libart-2.0-2 2.3.17-1 Library of functions for 2D graphi ii libatk1.0-0 1.10.3-1 The ATK accessibility toolkit ii libbonobo2-0 2.10.1-1 Bonobo CORBA interfaces library ii libbonoboui2-0 2.10.1-1 The Bonobo UI library ii libc6 2.3.5-8 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libgconf2-4 2.10.1-6 GNOME configuration database syste ii libglib2.0-0 2.8.4-2 The GLib library of C routines ii libgnome2-0 2.10.1-1 The GNOME 2 library - runtime file ii libgnomecanvas2-0 2.10.2-2 A powerful object-oriented display ii libgnomeui-0 2.10.1-1 The GNOME 2 libraries (User Interf ii libgnomevfs2-0 2.10.1-5 The GNOME virtual file-system libr ii libgtk2.0-0 2.8.9-2 The GTK+ graphical user interface ii libice6 6.8.2.dfsg.1-11 Inter-Client Exchange library ii liborbit2 1:2.12.4-1 libraries for ORBit2 - a CORBA ORB ii libpanel-applet2-0 2.10.2-1 library for GNOME 2 panel applets ii libpango1.0-0 1.10.1-2 Layout and rendering of internatio ii libpopt0 1.7-5 lib for parsing cmdline parameters ii libsm6 6.8.2.dfsg.1-11 X Window System Session Management ii libx11-6 6.8.2.dfsg.1-11 X Window System protocol client li ii libxml2 2.6.22-2 GNOME XML library ii xlibs 6.8.2.dfsg.1-11 X Window System client libraries m ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3-9 compression library - runtime gnome-swallow-applet recommends no packages. -- no debconf information
