Package: jpilot
Version: 0.99.7-2
Severity: wishlist

Hello,

When checking off an item in the todo list, it would be nice if jpilot
mimicked the Palm behavior: on my Palm, the checked-off item is shown
overstruck for a moment before disappearing. I find it very satisfying to see
the item crossed out for a little bit; also, it is a little disconcerting when
the item vanishes instantly with no feedback.

I have both Palm and jpilot configured to hide completed items, if it's not
obvious from the above.

Thanks for all your hard work,

Reid

Unfortunately, this simple sounding request is quite difficult to
implement. When modifying the completion status of a ToDo we are in the
middle of a GTK callback routine. I attempted a simple patch but found
that GTK was not updating the screen until after the callback routine was
complete. In order to achieve what you want I would need to have an
out-of-band signal passed from the callback routine to the subroutine
which draws the left-hand side of the screen. Beyond that I would then
need to get involved with setting a timer after which the left-hand side
of the screen would be redrawn again without the completed todo.

While I like the idea of seeing my todo items crossed of as I finish them
there is not enough value there to want to hack the code up in this way.

This feature will not be implemented.

Feature request is too difficult to implement given the small gain involved
  and will not be implemented.

So I also close it from Debian.
