:syn on gives me for example the following:

This bug no longer apply to the new shape of configuration file in
/etc/vim/* we have with vim 7 (now in unstable). The hard coded vim
version is no longer there and users have now to work harder to mess up
the runtimepath than simply not accepting the merge of configuration
files upon updates :-)
