--- Begin Message ---Package: urlscan Version: 0.9.5-1 Severity: normal While discussing a system integration issue involving libcanberra-gtk3-module and Flatpak, I was surprised to find that urlscan has a Recommends on libcanberra-gtk3-module. This is a GtkModule that looks for GTK events such as windows closing, modal dialogs appearing, etc. and generates sound events for them, each of which can optionally be associated with a sound effect via a theme. urlscan doesn't seem to have anything to do with GTK, or GUIs, or anything that would involve sounds at all. What is this Recommends for? I can't see any reason why urlscan would want even a Suggests on libcanberra-gtk3-module. I see this has been queried before, in #813456, where Tavis Ormandy suggested that this might have been a copy-and-paste error. The dependency seems to have been added in 0.8.2-1, without any mention in the changelog, by a maintainer who did one upload and then abandoned the package; the only change since then was to reduce it from a Depends to a Recommends for #813456. smcv
