Package: e17
Version: 0.17.6-1
Severity: normal
Dear Maintainer,
when the volume changing key is pressed on remote or keyboard (both are USB
HID), the "Volume changed" window appears in e17. The value in this window is
changing accorgingly to keypresses, but there is no effect on real volume and
mixer settings.
Sound works properly from mplayer, iceweasel and VLC. Alsamixer works properly
too.
There is nothing suspicious in logs (dmesg, messages, syslog, daemon.log,
Xorg.0.log) a few minutes around these keypresses.
The system runs on Asus EEE 1000H. It has been installed as Wheezy and
dist-upgraded to Jessie. update-alternatives --config x-window-manager;
hasn't been able to switch from Gnome to e17, so I have removed whole Gnome
and xserver and then installed xserver, xdm and e17 back. So there is
a possibility, that something went wrong during this non-standard way of
installation.
Files /etc/pulse/client.conf and /etc/pulse/daemon.conf are empty just with
commented out default values.
/usr/bin/pulseaudio --start --log-target=syslog; is running.
I'm willing to collect any data you'll need to debug it. I'm using Debian
servers for almost two decades, but I have no experience with Enlightenment
(installed it a few days ago for the first time) and I have configured sound
on Potato or on Woody last time.
Thank you for your help.
