This has now been done in gnucash 2.0.0 - the desktop file has also
moved into the main gnucash package instead of gnucash-common so that if
gnucash is removed without removing gnucash-common, the menu entry is
removed correctly.

$ dpkg -L gnucash | grep applications
/usr/share/applications/gnucash.desktop
