Package: gnome-pim
Version: 1.2.0-helix1

Using gnomecal, there are several options for remainders to dates, e.g.
having sent a mail or popped up a window. Unfortunately, this will
apparently only work when a gnomecal client is currently running.
Furthermore, nothing about this great drawback can be found in the
documentation. Unix has enough facilities to at least send a mail
correctly schedules whether logged on or not. Apart from this, it could
run a deamon which may pop up windows while `whoami` owns the display.
As the clock/cal client is integrated into gnome panel, I would expect
it to do something like that, or (worse, much worse) explicitly state
that it cannot do so.

Cheers,

The gnome-pim package has been removed from Debian. The reason is that it
is "old, obsolete, unmaintained upstream, and doesn't work properly. Better
alternatives (Evolution, Contacts, ...) are available in Debian."
