Package: gnome-settings-daemon
Version: 2.30.2-3
Severity: serious

After login to Gnome I see the CPU load over 40% (4-core i3 intel) produced
by
dbus. Trying to find a reason for that I found .xsession-errors growing very
fast to megabytes with the repeated messages inside:

.xsession-errors

List() failed for type GProxyVolumeMonitorGdu:

-----------

The only way to stop it I found is to kill gnome-settings-daemon, which
makes it unusable.

Possible side-effect is the problem with gnome-panel which is invisible
after Gnome start and could be unhide by killing gnome-panel process. Before
killing it produces similar to gnome-settings-daemon warnings in
.xsession-errors:

(gnome-panel:2885): GVFS-RemoteVolumeMonitor-WARNING **: invoking List()
failed for type GProxyVolumeMonitorGdu: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply:
Message did not receive a reply (timeout by message bus)

(gnome-panel:2885): GVFS-RemoteVolumeMonitor-WARNING **: New owner :1.23 for
volume monitor org.gtk.Private.GduVolumeMonitor connected to the bus;
seeding drives/volumes/mounts

There have been many changes to Debian since this bug was originally
reported. If you are still experiencing this issue with Debian 13 (or
with Debian 12 or Testing or Unstable), please report a new bug.

Thank you,
