Bug#292199: gimp: Unsharp mask does not work for larger images

I cannot reproduce this in 2.2.3. Are you sure that you have plenty of 
memory and disk space available? A large image like that takes quite a 
bit of memory and swap space (at least 88 MB RAM, and at least 100 MB of 
disk space, depending on what operations you do on the image).

after the recent update to Gimp from testing the option
    Filters / Enhance / Unsharp mask
does not work for *large* images any more.  I know definitely
that it worked for the version of Gimp which was in testing until
last week.  The effect is as follows:
   1. Using the filter on an image of about 2000x1500 pixels
      works perfectly.
   2. If I try to use the filter on an image of about 3000x2000
      pixels the dialog pops up for a fraction of a second and
      vanishes immediately.
