Hi,
to complete the information I have to add that the problem only occures, if I do the operation on a selection inside the image. After undoing the selection and doing "Unsharp mask" onto the whole large image all worked fine.
I guess this problem has to be foreward upstream. I can provide the xcf file for reproducing the problem.
