Patrick Winnertz, 2012-06-28 14:07+0200:
However I was able to figure out some systematics in the behaviour.. to
illustrate that I've made several screenshots - think this is easier
than describing the issue with words.

Good, but I cannot reproduce that. Comments follow.

1.) Start latexila - the minimize and close button are visible in the
right top edge. (initial_state.png)

Right, using gnome-session-fallback. No problem so far.

2.) press ALT+F7 and enlarge the window a little bit in both directions
(this is important!) and then go back to the smalles possible state
which the window allows. (without_maximize_button_resized.png)

Alt + F7 is to move the window, not to resize it. After moving it a bit, I enlarge it a bit from two opposite corners then. And after that, I use one corner to resize it to its minimal size. The maximize button does not disappear.

3.) Close latexila
4.) Open it again and then also the maximize button is visible in the
right top edge. (with_maximize_button.png)

Yes, no problem here.

5.) Enlarge the window with the maximize button and close it afterwards.
6.) See 1.) :-)

Err, yes, I guess, but this is what I was getting all along…
Given the incoherence I found atstep 2.), I must assume that I did not do exactly what I was supposed to. Could you rephrase that procedure?
