So the last lines of ~/.config/autostart/vino-server.desktop are:

This is a copy of the old autostart file

AutostartCondition=GNOME /desktop/gnome/remote_access/enabled

with GConf configuration instead of GSettings.

X-GNOME-Autostart-Phase=Applications
X-GNOME-AutoRestart=true
X-GNOME-Autostart-enabled=false

… and disabled, usually by gnome-session-properties.

Oh yes, you are probably right!

Is there an problem here?

The problem is that there is no upgrade path for such cases.

I removed the .config/... file, still it does not start. I need to restart gnome, is that right?

As for the problem, it would be useful to show an error in my case.

Also, I do not see the purpose of the ckeckbox in gnome-session-properties, since anyway there is a checkbox for that in vino-preferences.
