I'm sure a few packages will benefit from this update (at least dokuwiki and tt-rss directly depends on it). Personal motivation for opening this bug: I've switched from Google Reader to self-hosted tt-rss. The current version of libphp-simplepie fails to parse the current RSS feeds from Springer Link Journal of Signal Processing Systems. Version 1.3.1 succeeds.
