Package: banshee Version: 2.4.1-3+b1 Severity: important tl;dr: "Mass Storage Media support" doesn't like my 8G USB mass storage MP3 player.
Banshee draws its window briefly before crashing on startup, on every attempt. > $ banshee > [Info 13:30:28.515] Running Banshee 2.4.1: [Debian GNU/Linux unstable (sid) > (linux-gnu, x86_64) @ 2012-10-24 21:01:17 UTC] > [Info 13:30:29.891] Updating web proxy from GConf > [Info 13:30:30.105] All services are started 1.243639 > [Info 13:30:31.958] AmazonMP3 store redirect URL: > http://integrated-services.banshee.fm/amz/redirect.do/ > [Info 13:30:32.360] nereid Client Started > [Info 13:30:32.477] GStreamer version 0.10.36.0, gapless: True, replaygain: > True > > (Banshee:30875): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_propagate_error: assertion `src != NULL' > failed > [Info 13:30:34.171] AppleDeviceSource is ignoring unmounted volume 250 GB > LVM2 Physical Volume > > Unhandled Exception: GLib.GException: No such file or directory > at GLib.FileAdapter.EnumerateChildren (System.String attributes, > FileQueryInfoFlags flags, GLib.Cancellable cancellable) [0x00000] in > <filename unknown>:0 > at Banshee.IO.Gio.Directory+<GetFiles>c__Iterator6.MoveNext () [0x00000] in > <filename unknown>:0 > at Banshee.Dap.MassStorage.MassStorageSource+<>c__Iterator0.MoveNext () > [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 > at Banshee.Dap.MassStorage.MassStorageSource.OnImportFinished > (System.Object o, System.EventArgs args) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 > at Hyena.Collections.QueuePipeline`1[System.String].OnFinished () [0x00000] > in <filename unknown>:0 > at Banshee.Collection.ImportManager.OnFinished () [0x00000] in <filename > unknown>:0 > at Banshee.Collection.Database.DatabaseImportManager.OnFinished () > [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 > at Hyena.Collections.QueuePipeline`1[System.String].OnElementFinished > (System.Object o, System.EventArgs args) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 > at Hyena.Collections.QueuePipelineElement`1[System.String].OnFinished () > [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 > at Hyena.Collections.QueuePipelineElement`1[System.String].Processor > (System.Object state) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 I just tried removing ~/.cache/banshee-1, ~/.config/banshee-1 and running gconftool-2 --dump /apps/banshee-1 > banshee-1.gconf.crash followed by gconftool-2 --recursive-unset /apps/banshee-1; this has *not* changed the behaviour. I've got a USB mass storage device MP3 player that presents as two FAT32 devices: one representing its internal storage and the other representing an attached 64G MicroSD card. If I unmount the internal one (8G), banshee is OK — but if it is mounted banshee crashes as above every time. I don't know what about my 8G MP3 player is the problem. If I disable all plugins except "Mass Storage Media support", it still crashes; if I disable that plugin as well, it doesn't crash. -- System Information: Debian Release: 7.0 APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (600, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages banshee depends on: ii gnome-icon-theme 3.4.0-2 ii gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad [gstreamer0.10-au 0.10.23-7.1 ii gstreamer0.10-plugins-base 0.10.36-1.1 ii gstreamer0.10-plugins-good [gstreamer0.10-a 0.10.31-3+nmu1 ii gstreamer0.10-pulseaudio [gstreamer0.10-aud 0.10.31-3+nmu1 ii libboo2.0.9-cil 0.9.5~git20110729.r1.202a430-2 ii libc6 2.17-0experimental1 ii libcairo2 1.12.2-3 ii libdbus-glib1.0-cil 0.5.0-4 ii libdbus1.0-cil 0.7.0-5 ii libgconf2.0-cil 2.24.2-3 ii libgdata2.1-cil 2.1.0.0-1 ii libgdk-pixbuf2.0-0 2.26.1-1 ii libgkeyfile1.0-cil 0.1-4 ii libglib2.0-0 2.33.12+really2.32.4-5 ii libglib2.0-cil 2.12.10-5 ii libgpod4 0.8.2-7 ii libgstreamer-plugins-base0.10-0 0.10.36-1.1 ii libgstreamer0.10-0 0.10.36-1.1 ii libgtk-sharp-beans-cil 2.14.1-3 ii libgtk2.0-0 2.24.10-2 ii libgtk2.0-cil 2.12.10-5 ii libgudev1.0-cil 0.1-3 ii libkarma0 0.1.2-2.3 ii libmono-addins0.2-cil 0.6.2-2 ii libmono-cairo4.0-cil 2.10.8.1-8 ii libmono-corlib4.0-cil 2.10.8.1-8 ii libmono-posix4.0-cil 2.10.8.1-8 ii libmono-sharpzip4.84-cil 2.10.8.1-8 ii libmono-system-core4.0-cil 2.10.8.1-8 ii libmono-system-xml4.0-cil 2.10.8.1-8 ii libmono-system4.0-cil 2.10.8.1-8 ii libmono-zeroconf1.0-cil 0.9.0-4 ii libmtp9 1.1.3-35-g0ece104-5 ii libnotify0.4-cil 0.4.0~r3032-6 ii libpango1.0-0 1.30.0-1 ii libsoup-gnome2.4-1 2.38.1-2 ii libsoup2.4-1 2.38.1-2 ii libsqlite3-0 3.7.13-1 ii libtaglib2.0-cil 2.0.4.0-1 ii libwebkitgtk-1.0-0 1.8.1-3.4 ii libwnck22 2.30.7-1 ii libx11-6 2:1.5.0-1 ii libxrandr2 2:1.3.2-2 ii libxxf86vm1 1:1.1.2-1 ii mono-runtime 2.10.8.1-8 Versions of packages banshee recommends: ii avahi-daemon 0.6.31-2 ii brasero 3.4.1-4 ii media-player-info 17-1 Versions of packages banshee suggests: pn banshee-dbg <none> ii gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg 0.10.13-5 ii gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad 0.10.23-7.1 ii gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly 0.10.19-2+b2 -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
