Package: debconf Version: 1.5.50 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, I was reporting a bug (much like this one) while at the end I saw the debconf-show failed sentence. I tried to investigate and read the manpage. This is what I saw when running debconf-show first as a normal user and then as superuser/sudo :-
debconf-show debdelta debconf: DbDriver "passwords" warning: could not open /var/cache/debconf/passwords.dat: Permission denied $ sudo debconf-show debdelta [sudo] password for shirish: $ In both the ways I was unable to see any data via debconf. Looking forward to answers. -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable'), (10, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.8-2-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_IN.utf8, LC_CTYPE=en_IN.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages debconf depends on: ii perl-base 5.14.2-21 Versions of packages debconf recommends: ii apt-utils 0.9.7.8 ii debconf-i18n 1.5.50 Versions of packages debconf suggests: ii debconf-doc 1.5.50 ii debconf-utils 1.5.50 ii dialog 1.1-20120215-3 ii libgtk2-perl 2:1.244-1 ii libnet-ldap-perl 1:0.4400-1 ii libqtcore4-perl 4.8.4-1 ii libqtgui4-perl 4.8.4-1 ii libterm-readline-gnu-perl 1.20-2+b1 ii perl 5.14.2-21 ii whiptail 0.52.14-11.1 -- debconf-show failed -- Regards, Shirish Agarwal शिरीष अग्रवाल My quotes in this email licensed under CC 3.0 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/3.0/ http://flossexperiences.wordpress.com 065C 6D79 A68C E7EA 52B3 8D70 950D 53FB 729A 8B17 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
