 This is CPU specific. I compile my packages on an old Core2Duo,
supporting SSSE3 . The configure script checks if GCC supports
-march=native and if yes, it uses that. Which may be fine for local
compilations as it'll use everything your CPU supports. For
distributions this doesn't help. :(

 Not directly. My machine is an E6600 , would not call it newer.
I've disabled -march=native checking now for 2.4 and I'll upload it
soon. Please give that a test.
