How can you differentiate which entries don't work anymore which do?

Well, we don't want to e.g. replace any existing entries for SCSI
devices. And the information in the rules files doesn't give any hint
which entry was previously created for a ATA device.

It's not a conffile, so this isn't possible and wouldn't help anyway.
