Package: installation
Severity: grave
Tags: d-i, sid
Here's the total log of installation:
1. put cd-rom '20051128 "sid" - fsn.hu unofficial i386 Binary-1' in drive
2. boot
3. Press enter to take default install options
4. Choose "English"
5. Choose "United States"
6. Choose "American English"
(okay at this point all I've done is hit the Enter key taking defaults.
The next screen is:
=====
[!!] Load installer components from CD
No kernel modules were found. This probably is due to a mismatch
between the kernel used by this version of the installer and the kernel
version available in the archive.
If you're installing from a mirror, you can work around this problem by
choosing to install a different version of Debian. The install will
probably fail to work if you continue without kernel modules.
continue the install without loading kernel modules?
<Go Back> <Yes> <No>
=====
At this point I'm stumped. I'll give a more meaningfully report if
someone can tell me what would be helpful.
This isn't a new problem as far as I can tell. Several versions in the
last few weeks also give the same error. Since I can't find older
versions I can't tell you if this ever worked.
