So far the current default looks like a reliable and secure one, and as the package maintainer I do not believe that removing the feature of a last resort fail-safe preconfigured DNS resolver would be "no default" would improve the quality of Debian. If you feel the need to further pursue this then please explain in detail the threat model that you are trying to address and how the current default configuration would be worse than other default configurations. -- ciao, Marco
