That was an error; hence the removal again.

I started the conversion years ago (see the sf3 branch), but never
finished it. I've recently taken this up again, but it's a pain, as I
have to re-familiarize myself with the code again.

Eventually, there will be ~70 patches, and I'm currently somewhere in
the middle of it. I do expect to be done sometime early next year.
