Upstream is aware of that and you can see on the manpage[1] that this is very unlikely to be fixed. That report was added to the manpage on 2010-10-02, as you can see on the Changelog[2]. Any personal effort to add anti-aliasing should be made directly with upstream and would be greatly appreciated.
