In version 0.20-2+deb8u1 (stable as of 2016-12-05)
ufraw-batch appears to silently not honor any of the settings in the config
file :

ufraw-batch --conf=/home/username/photo-scan/cneg.ufraw --out-type=png --out-path=/home/karl/photo-scan/scan-project/cneg-6 /media/karl/EOS_DIGITAL/DCIM/100EOS5D/IMG_0199.CR2

Ignores the settings in cneg.ufraw including crop.

(There isn't a backport so I don't have a good way to test later versions)

The workaround is to not use --config and just use command line settings.

,.,.
There is also an error in the man page - the default config is not stored in
$HOME/.ufrawrc
but rather in:

~/.config/ufrawrc
