Nik,

At this point there are two blockers:

1. Update the package to the latest release of git-lfs (this should be easy)
2. Split out every go dependency that does not already exist in debian into its 
own package.  This is the part that has delayed me.

I am hoping to make some forward progress on this in the next few days - I’ve 
wanted to complete it but haven’t taken the time to.  Knowing that there is 
interest from others is helping light a fire under me. :)
