Hi, I can reproduce the bug. I am also using dovecot (testing). For me mutt now also hangs upon retrieval of the message. Message list display is fine, just as described by the original poster. I Just want to add that "imap_idle" appears to be the default, since I have no such entry in my .muttrc or /etc/Muttrc. So I had to add an explicit "set imap_idle = no" in my .muttrc. Now it works again.
