That's no downside for me. :-)

But then again, you're right: As soon as even oldoldstable has an
fping which works for both, IPv4 and IPv6, it doesn't hurt that the
/usr/bin/fping6 symlink is still there. They will notice at latest
when we make a Debian release where the symlink is dropped and by then
they should be able to even switch their oldstable and oldoldstable
systems to use just /usr/bin/fping and it's fine.

So I'll probably just re-add that symlink plus an according man page
and NEWS.Debian entry and that's it.
