I'm not sure what it means but there are still packages
which use libkpathsea3;

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ ldd /usr/bin/ptex 
        libkpathsea.so.3 => /usr/lib/libkpathsea.so.3 (0x000002000002c000)
        libm.so.6.1 => /lib/libm.so.6.1 (0x0000020000056000)
        libc.so.6.1 => /lib/libc.so.6.1 (0x00000200000e6000)
        /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x0000020000000000)
