Note that it would have been OK to keep this bug open for a long time,
as long as it is open it documents the fact that this is a known issue
as well as the existing information about this bug.

I'm not arguing against changing the Architecture: (and you will need 
code changes before you ca re-enable), just saying that there can be 
value in such bugs (see #838496 for a good example).
