Hello Tobias, Thanks for your comment. Do you need libgap.la to be compiled with -fPIC or not ? What about /usr/lib/gap/bin/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-default64/obj/ ? Please note that the next upstream version of GAP (4.10) will include libgap, but I do not know if we will have enough time to package it before the freeze.
