However, it doesn't get updated as swiftly as it should, not even in unstable. I have now two notebooks with SSDs that are older than six months that are not properly handled by smartmontools due to the outdated drivedb. By removing the update script altogether, you have deprived me of an easy way to shoot myself in the foot by using it. I now have to resort to manually downloading thw unchecked file from the Internet because I really really want that hole in my foot. Is that really such a good idea? Please reconsider.
